TIP 05 Hair Parting for Face Asymmetry
Amaze your clients with a simple part change !
Usually as a hairdresser we ask the client, “what side do you normally part your hair” , and leave it at that. Well normal is not always best !
Challenge you clients normal parting routine and include face shape and parting suggestions into your consultations.
It is amazing what a small change can do for face shapes !
Most celebrities seemed to have figured out which was their photogenic or ‘strong’ and always present this side in photos. So let your clients in on this tip.
By pulling the all the hair up and away from the face , decide which is your clients more attractive side (“stronger side”) and part the hair to expose this side..
The stronger side is the one that has a sharper cheekbone and jawline. The stronger side is more square in the jaw line (less curved than the other side).

TIP 04 Architecture!
No one in your salon is giving you that creative hit. In salon training happens maybe once a month and it has to be on your day off, like we don’t work enough! Invest in yourself and make your own rules. Challenge yourself by thinking and using the shape of an architecture piece for a new section pattern, for a cut or colour. Example, the Opera House. Revolution DVD is inspired by the texture and waves of this landmark building. Looking at buildings will never be the same!
TIP 03 Knowing Your Classic's!
So we know classic haircuts are our foundation for all haircuts. Knowing our classic and knowing them well is what enables us to be confident when we do advanced cuts. Freshen up with your classic cutting with DCI INSTITUTES DVD’s online. Modernise them by using different personalising techniques. Deep point cutting on an angle to remove weight and length, great for your inversions, or the graduated bob, shallow point cut internally and perimeter to remove weight for a softer line. Arm yourself with knowledge, it will put you ahead of the rest!
TIP 02 Changing!
You would never buy a piece of clothing soaking wet, let alone try it on. It does not show true shape, movement and texture. It’s no different when it comes to looking at hair. Learn the art of cutting hair dry, through DCI INSTITUTE.
Perform a new style of cutting to that loyal client, you know the one that you have had for two years and you know her life story that continuously changes, however you’re still doing the same technique that she knows all to well. Show he/she that you are constantly challenging and educating yourself.
I guarantee she will not be influenced in going to someone new for another 2 years.
TIP 01 Think quick technique!
How many of us can say that there is one particular haircut we do constantly. Being challenged creatively on a Saturday, ahhh! Can’t they came in during the week? We would rather not the hassle and not to mention she came 15mins late! It is easier to do what we know as, what we know we can do well.
We hear you when you say you want easy, short, three section techniques. The Revolution DVD will show you different ways of finishing and how to adopt and utilize this technique to your client. A think quick technique that we know your client will love.
